ASCIIfiles
OK, re-phrase time. What I am doing is writing on an Epson PX-8 (an old CP/M
laptop) using portable Wordstar. There is no good spell check feature for this
{the PX-8} machine so I transfer the file to ASCII and use ispell for the
Amiga. Then I transfer back. What happens is that whenever the file has been
through the Amiga-either starting their in Notepad or Emacs, and then goes
back into the PX-8 line feed characters (I`Ve since learned that they are
ASCII line feeds) prevent the Wordstar Re-formating feature from working.
What I need to know is 1) Is there some way to strip away these characters
=AND= replace them with what is refered to in the Wordstar manual as a "soft
carrige" return? I =have= been able to delete the line feeds with Txt in DL 9,
but the trouble is Wordstar then views the entire file as one long sentance.
Any ideas??? Thanks.
