A2000 BRIDGEBOARD
HELP! I am the lucky recipient of a brand new A2000 PC Bridgeboard—that
doesn't work. I am sure I installed it correctly. Maybe not but I am willing
to recheck that part. I followed all the directions and rechecked them. When
I click on the "pc mono" icon I received the prompt, "couldn't find library."
According to the instructions, if you receive this prompt, you should insert
the MS-DOS Disk into the 5 and 1/4 drive. This I did. I got another prompt
that said, "system failure, cannot continue." I have rechecked the board and
the disk drive. I don't know if the problem is software or hardware. I have
yet to get the five and 1/4 disk to run, not even a light. I looked through
the pc utility disk which came with my board. Using the every ready "CLImate"
I notice that the startupsequences used to activate the pc board all mentioned
HARD DISKS. I don't have a hard disk yet. I am wondering if the correct
startup sequence is included with the board. Since I don't know much about
computers I am really overwhelmed by it all. I love my amiga and I have to
have everything that will work on it (two internal 3 and 1/2, pc compatibility
and hard disk coming for Christmas. If you can help me solve this problem I
would appreciate it greatly. According to my dealer, I have the first
Brigdeboard in our area. They sold the first one to me. They say they know
nothing about it. It has been suggested that I bring my A2000 to their store
and leave it for a few days while they attempt to sort out the problem. I
don't think I could stand that so I am appealing to you for help. Thanks,
