<Shrug> This is another very personal subject. I'll tell you what I use, but a
lot of people won't agree.
I run full interlaced with black text on a dull greenboard-green background;
this effectively eliminates flicker. It also makes the characters look a bit
thinner and sharper, since it takes the electronics in the 1080 longer to turn
off than on. White on black letters look thick; black on white letters look
thin.
As to the font, I've pretty much settled on CleanFont, which came with one of
the music packages I reviewed in the past. It's a simple non-serifed font
which is, true to its name, very "clean" looking.
Sure, let's start a thread on the subject. Try 'em all, until you find what
you like.
