Thanks very much for your reponse. I did not intend to sound as negative as I
perhaps did before, but I had tried for weeks to get answers on this, and the
notion that there was a problem came from our 3DS dealer and from someone at
AutoDesk. Not one call was returned. Utimately, this problem was solved. I am
stillnot sure exactly what was wrong, because there are obviouly a lot of
variables. I did go into the PAR and rename all of the video clips in the
correct format (ABCD0000) which can be incorrect if sent to the PAR otherwise.
It may show a truncated name, with four zeros, but appparently it still isn't
treated as such at render time. After this was done, the rendering has worked
just fine. I think 3DS is a great program, but Autodesk relies heavily on it's
dealers and even it's customers to explain these things to each other. We did
get a call from our dealer last week. She was following up on a sales call for
CrystalGraphics TOPAS. When she realized we were already a customer, and one
with an unresolved question, the sales pitch abruptly ended. Again, thanks to
