I have an Alps ALQ324 printer – 24 pin, but wide carriage model. Have
been VERY happy with it, very fast in draft and considerably faster in LQ mode
than other 24 pin printers I have seen. The epson LQ2500 driver in DL 11
drives with without problems, with one hint: set the mode to LETTER quality for
printing graphics for the really good quality printout. the DRAFT mode is much
faster but washed out (9-pin emulation but not as good as most 9 pin). Have
only had mine for a few weeks but I know some people who have worked with them
in the military, and they say they're workhorses, very reliable.
