Ben, You'll have to re-aim at Hazy and/or CBM…I presume (sometimes a bad idea) that the form factor change was to match MS-DOS cards…so both types of cards could be used in the machine. As to the extension bus on the A500 vs the A1000….I thought it was a dumb idea myself…I know why they said it was done (to have the drive on the right side where most folks would be able to use it right-handed) And finaly…the pinout changes were to make it compatible with proposed 32 bit machines. If the present system allows the A2000 form of Zorro to "last for a long time", then the changes needed to be done and were logical. If they change it again….they've cut their own throats. I suppose my biggest question would be why wasn't it designed properly in the first place (A1000) when the set the Zorro standard….surely they were aware of the existance of the '020 and that in the relatively near future, it would be as cheap as (or close anyway) a 68000.
