Himanshu, Look for obvious things…broken case, evidence of unit being dropped or otherwise being mis-handled. Frayed power cord, broken gears on the printer tractor, problems with the computer disk drives reading or writing to disks. Without knowing your needs…it's real hard to say which would be better (1000/2000 or even the 500). The 2000 is more easily expanded, yet the 1000 has some good hardware available for it also. The 500 isn't nearly as expandable at this point, and any expansion for it will more than likely be cumbersome since the system unit and keyboard are all in one. The 2000 has a much more robust power supply, but then it also has a noisier fan. Then there is the price. You can get an A1000 and monitor for about 1/2 the cost of an A2000 right now due to trade-ins on the 2000. Overall, the 2000 is definately the "better" machine from a total perspective….but what is right for you and what is right for me are 2 different things. My best advice is to look at your needs now and in the foreseeable future and see which machine fits those needs and your financial situation. Don
