World of CBM show
At 1600*1280 we do B/W in 256 shades. At 1280*960 we can drive a colour
tube to 16.7 million colours. That is if youve got the video ram. Our B/W
monitor is a 23" which may sound too big but… Weve got it on a nifty
swivil stand that makes it look like a pussy cat!

I attended the World of Commodore show in Philadelphia today. The good news
is that the world of Commodore now appears to be 90% Amiga. There were
hardly any C64 booths and the people manning those booths were VERY lonely.
The bad news is that the show itself was not as big or as interesting as
the Ami Expo held over a year ago in New York. Still, we managed to spend
over five hours at the show.
Here are a few tidbits I picked up:
Microprose had a booth that showed C64 versions of their games.
However, the guy in the booth said that Gunship and Pirates should be
released for the Amiga by the end of Q1/89. He said that Gunship will
be more than just a straight port of the ST version. He also said that
Microprose is pulling out of the ST market in favor of the Amiga
market.
Dealers at the show had expected to have Dungon Master and Dragon's
Layer for sale. Neither program made it in time for the show. However,
both programs should be available this month. Two booths had what
appeared to be production versions of Dungon Master, but not for sale.
Readysoft said that the animated portion of Dragon's Layer was finished
and they were only waiting for the final artwork for the maze portion.
Readysoft also showed a demo version of the Mac emulation hardware/
software. The hardware plugs into the disk I/O port of the Amiga. (It
may be plugged into the last drive in a daisy chain as long as all
drives pass through power from the Amiga.) They ran a desktop
publishing and a 3-D modeling program for the Mac on their Amiga. They
support/require either 64K or 128K Apple ROMs (that you have to
supply).
People manning the Commodore booth were talking about the Amiga A1500
like they really expected the machine to be built and sold.
Dealers at the show are selling the Enhancer package for Ver 1.3
