Bookman, like all PostScript fonts (and almost all fonts in the typesetting
world), _has_ monospaced numerals. The reason for this is the same one you
cite, the need for numbers to align in columns. If your telephone numbers
don't have identical widths, the software you're using must be applying
pair kerning to the numerals. Microsoft Word doesn't offer pair
kerning–are you feeding this document through Pagemaker or some other DTP
program? If the numbers all have the same widths but aren't aligning,
you're doing something in wrong when positioning them–or there's something
wrong with the width tables in your Mac's system folder. Leave me another
message or call me at 617 661-7798 if I can help.
