The only way to "proof" a PostScript document on your PC's screen is with the soon-to-be-released Windows version of LaserTalk. This program already exists for the Macintosh, and the DOS/Windows version was showed at the Seybold show in September. It uses an attached PostScript printer (like an Apple LaserWriter) to rasterize the PostScript code and then brings the bit-map back to the computer for display. Until a complete implementation of Display PostScript exists for the PC, this is likely to be the only solution to your problem. Because of resolution limitations–and the amount of material that has to be sent back and forth between computer and printer–this approach is best suited to large, non-halftone graphics rather than halftone images or lots of text. And, of course, you have to have a PostScript printer attached to your computer!
