Vic, I agree, it shouldn't matter, but I've found (gut feeling, not a timed test) that if you delete a bunch and add a bunch and delete and so forth, it does seem to cause the icons to come up a bit slower. I don't use workbench so it's only been on a few disks where I was playing where I thought I noted the slowdown. I also may have been making a poor comparison since it wasn't any kind of real test.
