Marc, Anyway, I assume now your problem went away. <grin> Not much you can do to do that capturing better using miro board. One way to do that full screen capturing with best quality using 386/486 machine is to capture the video frame by frame into an image sequence from frame accurate VCR/LD. Then, you can convert the images to an AVI file in Video Editor. I did this many times so that I know it is doable and many others are doing this without worrying about dropping frames, and so on. Work quite well especially you always have an excuse to leave the machine running and go home right away. <grin> I like to capture in PAL because it gives me larger screen than NTSC's 320×240, then I output it to NTSC. Work great for scene and still images. But, I think even in PAL capturing miro board still will not give you real time capturing in 640×480. Are we using different board? So that I think you will need a frame accurate VCR or LD to do that full screen capturing with miro board. A board like Targa 2000 can give you this, however, it is a totally different story, especially for the price. Actually, I feel 320×240 with 100% or 99% quality looks quite good on TV already. It is of VHS quality which is good enough for non-professional usage. So that you can try this setting first. You can always do other things like remove the disk cache program (it just slow down video capturing/playback), defrag your HD (so that the next sector of the AVI file is always available), add a faster HD, buy a new Pentium/90 CPU and motherboard, buy a new PC, and so on. However, the cheapest and easiest thing to do is that you can try capturing with our Video Capture program which is tuned for boards like miro DC1, Intel SVR Pro, and Fast MM Pro. Your current configuration 486/66, 1G HD, and 8M RAM is better than what we tested with these boards. We use 486/33, 512M HD, and 8M RAM machines in some testing configurations, all went well.
