#A2620 Problem
A2620 board boots less than 10 percent of the time on my system even when
Supra Wordsync hard card is disconnected from the power supply and removed
from its slot. In fact this happens when all cards and peripherals are
removed from the Amiga. The Amiga and all peripherals work properly at all
times when the A2620 is removed.
On those occasions when the A2620 boots, there is an error message
displayed saying "Autoconfigure out of memory space. However the system
will continue to boot up despite the error message to either the 68000 mode
or the 68020 mode, it doesn't seem to matter.
After a successful cold boot with the A2620, the system will survive a warm
reboot most of the time. And the avail command shows the full 7 megs
available. However, most of the time the hard drive will freeze.
When the A2620 won't do a cold boot, reseating the board in its slot
sometimes helps and sometimes it doesn't. In fact once I thought everything
was working properly, but after I put the Amiga's cover back on the machine
would no longer boot.
The A2620 card is apparently good since I took it to AmiComp and it worked
on another Amiga with no apparent problems.
All in all this problem reminds me of the time I added memory to my old
A1000 and it wouldn't work until I had the pal chips grounded. Any ideas?
