Dominique, Yes, I'm using an 8100 Power PC with 80 ram and a 9-gig external hard drive. As far as satisfying my needs, I guess it does, but literally the first thing I did was to design and plan a project that would test the limits of the system, so the current project I'm dealing with has eaten up practically every inch of space I have.I'm using it in conjunction with Data Translation's Media 100, and we also have Infini-D 3-D imaging, Elastic Reality and Fractal Painter 3.0. It all arrived at once so I'm still wading through the documentation. One particular hurdle that I think I've jumped over is the critical importance of output modes when rendering a Quicktime movie in COSA: I had been rendering with the "Video" option selected which resulted in horizontal and vertical shifts of individual elements in compositions of about 10-element depth. There is a Media 100 option which I should have been using, and now am. I assume the video option is purely for printing to tape. Are you using a non-linear editor in conjunction with your COSA? I'd like to hear if you've had any problems so that I can (a) avoid those problems in the future and (b) be of some help, if possible. And thanks for taking the trouble to reply. Mark P. Ring.
