Pete: Do you know anything about the ScanLock genlock from VidTech? I'm asking because I'm trying to find a reasonably good genlock/encoder without using the video slot of the 2500, if possible. When I asked you if you thought it was necessary to buy the 2000S, even if I didn't plan to use it for Y/C work, you said, "yes," and one of the reasons was that it "manages the overlay process in Y/C" and you went on to say that the difference is noticeable, even if you use the composite output. But it can't do that if you feed it composite in the first place can it? In any case, I've read pro and con about the ScanLock. The most attractive thing about it is that it is completely external, says that it keeps Y/C completely separated from input to output, in the case that I end up using that mode, has fader controllers, and is priced attractively. Since I plan to buy a toaster, I'm trying to avoid the problem of having to open the case every time I want to go back and forth between the Toaster software and all the other software I'm bound to want to use.
