IFF is not object-oriented. If you want to change a PDraw clip into an IFF, I understand there is a utility in the PDraw clip art volume(s) which will do this. This way the clip art itself is also useable by programs that take IFF bitmapped art. You're correct that trace doesn't do centre-line trace, but it does trace along both sides of even a thin line, then fills the space in between, so you'll still end up with a line (whether thick or thin) and not just the edges of the line.
