To the best of my knowledge, the available Microsoft mice are serial types only, which isn't a plug-in replacement for an Amiga mouse. It _might_ be possible to interface a Microsoft Bus type mouse (i.e. a mouse that sends quadrature inputs instead of serial byte messages) if the new bus mouse is not just a serial type that plugs into a special card. You'd have to examine the signals available from the mouse and match them up to the Amiga's inputs if possible. The Microsoft Bus mice that I've seen do not have a 9 pin connector, so if you run across a mouse that has a 9-pin connector, chances are that it won't work.
