Windows Debate
A few days ago, someone took a swipe at Microsoft Windows, implying that
programming the Amiga would be a "liberating" experience after programming
Windows. Being both an Amiga fanatic and a Windows programmer, I'm ready
and willing to talk about the similarities and differences between
AmigaDOS/Intuition and Microsoft Windows.
So call me the devil's advocate. I programmed the PC for many years before
Windows and the Amiga came along, so segment registers don't scare me much.
(I don't like them, and would strange the guy who left them in the '386 and
'486, but that's another story…)
Thing is, in a flaming network debate over whether Windows or Intuition was
"better", I think the Amiga would lose, or at least come out struggling and
bloodied. So come on, I dare ya, knock this chip off my shoulder – tell me
why Windows is so bad…
