My comments about Amiga C-NET are factual, and not out-of-line at all.
It's a well-known fact that C-NET uses Michael Cox's Skyline ARexx commands
and Skypix graphics protocol. It has gone under name changes since
implementation.
Michael asked Pletzer to kindly remove the features that Ken had lifted
from Skyline software, and was ignored at best.
As far as piracy use goes, I never said it was the author's responsibility
for SysOps who act in that manner. Only that C-NET has (C64) and is (Amiga)
being widely used for piracy.
Skypix was renamed Skypics originally in C-NET upgrades. Also, you stated
that you were looking over Ken Pletzer's shoulder during PART of the C
language source code. So yes, you can speak with some authority, up to the
half-way point of C-NET's Amiga development, but not beyond.
Anyone can log onto an Amiga C-NET system and see the Skypix protocol for
themselves, anyhow. So telling me that I'm innacurate, is just spitting in
the wind, my friend.
I have no doubt that there are many original ideas in C-NET, but it IS
factually only 90-95% original. Skypix was out long before Ken "borrowed"
it. As were the Skyline ARexx commands that Ken thought would make a "neat"
addition to his software.
