What about ASPI? I've been told by one vendor that his company's product has no programmer's manual for the board, but that it has an ASPI driver, which is apparently some sort of middle-man type driver which your driver calls. (I think it stands for Advanced SCSI Protocol Interface, or something similar.) I've been told one can buy this from Adaptec for $50 and also that NCR "owns" it. I am trying to track it down myself, and if I learn anything germane, I'll try to pass it on. I don't know how general it is–I know of at least one vendor whose boards do not have ASPI drivers, or at least not yet.
