No System Folder?
I think I did something stupid during my installation of System 7.
Half-following the advice in one of the System 7 installation guides here
on Compuserve, I removed the System and Finder files from my 6.0.5 System
folder, then renamed the System folder to something else, and then
installed a fresh System 7. In other words, I had no System folder left on
this disk. (I think I should have left one there?) When I installed S7,
it put the folders for "Startup Items," "Control Panels," "Extensions,"
etc. all at the top level of my hard disk. There's also a suitcase file
called "System" at this level. But there's no "System" folder. I'm
supposed to have one, right? If so, what can I do to repair this strange
install? If not, then shouldn't all these folders be sub-folders of a
System-like folder, instead of cluttering my top-level window for this hard
disk?
