Andy;
First, I installed 2.0 tonight, after finding an enhancer. The revision is
wonderful – it works and looks great. I am also surprised at what a large
percentage of programs (including copy-protected games) still run. Nicely
done!
My question is this: I am running two hard-drives, both GVP controlled.
One is their latest SCSI controller, the other the IDE controller on their
SeriesI accelerator.
I would like to reformat the drives for better performance under 2.04;
however, there does not seem to be anything in their setup-program (it is
the same for both SCSI and IDE) that relates to the getting started docs
for WB2.04…except for an item under the RDB screen called "mask", with
has a value of 0xFFFFFFFE. If I change this value to 0x444f5301, and
reformat the drive, will I have all of the new advantages? I have tried to
contact GVP for a couple of days with this one, but it is nearly impossible
to get through to them.
