TeX is great … but it's definitely not a word processor, nor a DTP program … it is a professional type-setting program. (using DTP to imply an interactive system like PStream/PPage). Word Perfect is a powerful word processor, with no attempts at being DTP … and to compare WP and TeX seems an odd thing to do. If you want DTP/typesetting, then your choice is one way … if you want text editing your choice is another … if you want a word-processor there is a third route to go. I operate all three ways … and have favoured programs in each category (in fact, my choice of text editor is actually Argonaut's assembler program!!)
