Ian, Once again you've escaped reality entirely. First, there is a fundamental difference in the business of 'roads' vs the business of 'hot dog stands'. The fact that you can price yourself out of the hot dog business even if you own the only stand in no way is an anology to the fact that once a road is built, you can gouge far more comparatively due to the nature and difficulty of the producing the product and the nature of the demand from the customers. [Aside…don't underestimate how much you can gouge for hotdogs. Have you bought one recently at a movie theater?] Also, one of the fundament purposes of private ownership of roads in the Libertarian Fantasy would not be to encourage mass use, but to restrict access and mobility of the economically weaker elements which the oligarchy needs to control to preserve its rule. Businesses have survived quite well by practicing discrimination….the history of the urban North in this century is a good example [note: no Jim Crow laws]. Regards, Dave
