I like it! There's an interesting idea for political reform: give politicians an option to commit themselves to promises, and force the politician to stand for reelection if he breaks such a commitment (I would not automatically toss him out; the people might decide not to hold him to that particular promise). If done right, any major promise made without such a commitment would seem very suspect. 😉
