Warren, We seem to be getting closer and closer to agreement <g>, but not quite yet. My problem with morality as a concept (not as a lifestyle!) is that it depends on who is defining it. Is traditional Polynesean (sp?) less moral than our own Puritan culture? I don't know. I do know what is good for me, as I'm sure you know for yourself. I DO NOT think morality is bad. I just don't know how to apply that to everyone. I agree that a straight heterosexual who doesn't use drugs and has a limited number of sexual partners has very little chance of contracting HIV, particularly if those partners are of the same inclination. Perhaps not next to zero, but pretty close. Re: Africa. When I was there it seemed to me that their problems had to do with rampant promiscuity, and that indeed their major mode of transmission was heterosexual. VD is extremely common, but blood transfusions are very uncommon. The Africans I dealt with lived in the bush in Zimbabwe and probably never say a hypodermic needle, but they sure knew about "Slim Disease." David
