I saw the piece on the Today show, an it looked to me like it was simply
panning around on one large video image, perhaps digitally formed from a series
of frames from different angles. I didn't see the nighttime thing.
A friend told me that he saw part of Alec Jason's original Mitchell brothers
animation on the (same?) show (with an Autodesk credit).
