Brand new Compuserver, I have been a geologist for some time. My home email

1st REQUEST. I have some trouble with a very old Lady, the "Societe geologique
du Nord", based in Lille since 1860. Traditionally, our journal "Annales
S.g.N." was devoted to paleontology and regional geology. Any other subject of
geological interest, incuding teaching of the geology, and even physical
geography or Science History, is welcome for publication in "Ann. S.g.N.".
The Old Lady subscription (journal+membership) is cheap, only about $50
a year (4 issues). Any member of the S.g.N. has 10 free pages every year.
That's great.
During my first visit to the forum, I have been amazed by the vast
number of paleontologists still alive, active and young in N-America (the
species is threatened, near from extinction in France). Many of them ARE eager
to send papers to the Old french Lady. She speaks english, of course. In Her

2nd REQUEST. Every 2nd-11th August since 1987, during the 'JOURNEES CULTURELLES
DE PRALOGNAN-LA-VANOISE' (Savoie, France, el.4000ft-11887ft), I'd welcome some
colleagues to speak with, to walk with, on the outcrops, in the Alps.
Of course, the 'journees' are free (that's great), open to anyone of
any age, and a good place to improve one's French language. Main subjects are:
ethnobotanics, religious architecture, local civilization, geography, eating,
local wines, Geology (that's me). The area has been thoroughly disinfected by
the Alpine metamorphism, hence almost all fossils have left, and geological
interpretation is perfectly free and easy.
