Yea, Dennis, this plotter sure looks like the right thing. I should have a
chance to see one in action next week. If we're lucky, we just might even
buy one! (lessee, $7500 for the DesignJet; $2K, possibly $3K or more to
repair our Calcomp 965A properly….)
Now, for a silly question to anyone reading this thread.
I'm not trying to be cheap, but if we do get a designjet, it won't make
sense to put much money into the old 965a, and I *really* want to see us get
one. One of the 4 pen solenoids still works, and the mylar belt is mangled,
but not torn. Qestion: Does anyone have any hints about taking creases and
wrinkles out of mylar? Would heat help, or just do harm? Surely with all the
drawings on mylar that have been mangled over the years, someone would have
some advice?
