The problem you refer to is caused by the size of text selected. If you
were to select the 8×8 character set, each of your characters amount to 8
scan lines on your display. The following table shows how the various
fonts size show up at various resolutions on a standard 14" monitor (Sizes
are approximate):
Screen Resolution->>> 600×480 800×600 1024×768
8×8 0.13" 0.10" 0.08" 8×12
0.20" 0.16" 0.12" (1/8) 8×16
0.27"(>1/4") 0.21" 0.16" 12×24 (Deluxe Only) 0.40"
0.32" 0.24"
I typically run the larger fonts with the finer resolutions. The Deluxe's
12×24 font gives an proportionally normal character size at 1024×768
compared with a standard VGA Text display.
Additionally, you might try to adjust your vertical size. Some monitors do
accurately track the changes in resolution, resulting in part of the image
appearing behind the display trim.
Panacea offers an OEM upgrade for the Orchid drivers at a discounted cost
