I am working with a customer using AutoCad 386 Relsome problems getting the program and hardware to work together. Tryng to get help from the AutoCad dealer has been of no value. The problem is simple. The user has a requirement to edit, hopefully infrequently, very large drawing files. The largest to date is 15 MB and growing. The program retrieves the drawing and displays it very well. The problem is editing. As soon as any changes are made we get the message, "FATAL ERROR: AFPAGER: ERROR WRITING PAGE FILE." It appears to me that we are running out of hard disk space for the temporary files. The dealer technician said the problem was related to the network. I cannot accept that for two reasons: 1) We had not and do not load network software and drivers since we wanted to maximize RAM available to AutoCad. 2) The problem is eliminated (with performance degradation) by using the network drive to store the drawing files. I need to know how to configure the work station to eliminate the fatal error. We would like to run the program entirely locally if possible. If necessary we can increase the size of the local hard disk but we would like a recommendation on how large it should be.
