Harry, We have a product called BlockSOLID that doesn't have a "FACE TRIMMER" per se, but can be used in such a way to "effectively" give you that capability. The latest release of the product, v2.0 comes with an INTERFERENCE CHECKER (IC). The IC checks for "surface intersections" between any of the following .. 3D Faces, surface meshes (rulesurf, revsufr, etc..), p-faces, P-face meshes, and AME solids. The IC highlight the surfaces involved (actually it makes a highlighted "copy" of the surface) and DRAWS THE LINE OF INTERSECTION. This intersection line has a "segment" corresponding to each intersecting face. This line now represents the "new edge" for the face or mesh. Let me clarify thru the following example: Let's say you have 2 "wierd-shaped", closed polylines, separated in the Z axis (z=0 & z=5). You then "surface" between these with a rulesurf. Next to draw a 3D face that "cuts thru" the mesh at z=3 (or this could be a mesh or AME solid). The IC would generate a line describing where the surface mesh "crossed" the 3D Face. Lets say you wanted to "trim-off" everything above z=3. Then you could just erase the mesh and re-RULESURF between the z=0 polyline and the IC generated line at z=3. In effect, you have now trimmed the surface representation. This could also for just 3D-face vs. 3D-face.
