Animators, I'm looking to learn about the standard pricing structures. It seems that I've been seeing alot of numbers "floating around" in regards to $/"finished animation sec" .. based on animation content (special effects .. flying logos, etc). Is this the way that jobs costs are presented to customers or are the "rule of thumbs" and the customers are charged hourly rates + rendering + tape transfer costs? For rendering + tape transfer I think I've seen $1/render and $1/frame .. ($6k for 30 sec's .. is that correct?). Q1 – "What method is being used for pricing animations?" Q2 – "What are some APPROX pricing ranges and service catagories?" (either as $/finished_animation_sec … or hourly rate + transfer) Q3 – "Are my rendering & tape transfer figures high/low or pretty close?" I noticed on the IPAS catalog some rates … are the majority of y'all REALLY getting those kind'a rates? What about for arch walkthru's etc? Ang
