My feelings exactly, but the point I was trying to make is that that is EXACTLY what the 'NEW, IMPROVED' A4000 is available for. On top of that, the PC system has twice as much RAM, almost 3 times as much disk storage, caching IDE controller, video co-processor (32 bit data path at CPU speeds [sound familiar?]), oodles of GUI software, AND a 15" monitor, (And NO SALES TAX [unless you live in S Dakota]). Stiff Competition. NOW, BEFORE YOU START PREACHING TO THE CHOIR, I AM AN AMIGA USER AND EVANGELIST!!! I agree that it would make a great server for an Amiga Novell Network. (Tho' I'd get rid of the IDE and make it a 1-2Gig SCSI drive [and DAT backup], drop the local bus video, get a mono graphics card [all a server needs], make it a DX-50Mhz instead of a DX2-66, bump the RAM up to 32MB and put it in a nice big tower case with 2 fans.) (Oh well, I can dream can't I? :^) I have to admit that at first glance this ENLAN Amiga peer-to-peer network software sounds interesting. I will be calling them ASAP for more info.
