#PAR problem
PAR problems: Has anyone run into the following (and better yet, found a
solution?)– With 3DS rel. 3, I was able to shell out (running 3dshell.exe) and
run the PAR software while in 3DS; I can't seem to do this anymore.
Compounding the problem is that I've done a slew of software updates during
Dec/January, so I'm not absolutely sure, but I think the offending prog. might
be rel. 4 of 3ds– I have tried using the earlier version of the PAR software
that was working in this situation, but no dice there either. Any ideas?
Also regarding DONGLES (yecchh!). One possible, although not trivial solution:
Considering– 3dStudio unfortunatly needs a dongle (I know at least one
part-time student who would be pirating copies otherwise; no, no, not me! I'm
too old for that stuff!)
Considering– Software developers need to make a profit, or we all lose
And– IPAS plug-ins *only work with 3DS*— Can a way be found that
takes the end-users 3DStudio lock and uses that for IPAS protection as well?
So when I call Schreiber or Digimation, they say, "thanks for your order, and
what is your 3DStudio serial number?…." It may even provide some redundancy
to stamp out pirates. Just my nickel's worth.
