Angela, we have cdk r2 on order, and in anticipation of its arrival i have purchased the microsoft visual c++ development system on cd rom. this is apparently for windoze nt programming, but also includes the windows programming (vc++ 1.5); however, the manuals for version 1.5 are not included and can only be obtained by sending microsoft $100.00 and waiting until the feel like sending the manuals (if they feel like it). 1. Will these manuals be necessary for programming with the cdk r2? 2. do i need the full vc++ development system or should i have purchased the standard edition of vc++? 3. is there an alternative book which could be purchased from a local bookstore which would suffice? i have not had any previous experience with the cdk; however, i have had extensive experience with acad, 3d studio and vr programming with Superscapes VRT.
