I bought a CDTV last week, to be used as a music CD player and as a CD-ROM drive, connected through Parnet, for my 3000. I'm not really interested in CDTV interactive titles, but rather the generic "archive" type discs such as Walnut Creek's AB20 Internet archive, their "6,000 GIF Images" disc, the Fred Fish collection, Texture City, and various other IBM and Mac archive discs. Well, it turns out that none of Walnut Creek's discs are currently compatible with CDTV. The next pressing of the AB20 disc will be compatible, but I doubt they'll rework their other discs to make them CDTV-compatible. This is a disturbing point, and I'd like to get your experiences as to how good or bad CDTV is as a CD-ROM drive. Which titles do you use which are compatible, or conversely, which titles were you disappointed to find unreadable by CDTV? Blaq!
