Memory conflicts
My new computer, a Dell 450DE, came with an ATI Graphics Ultra card whose
memory address apprently conflicts the Hitachi CD-ROM card. Consequently,
the CD-ROM no longer works.
I'm a bit over my head in this hex business and would appreciate some
timely advice.
The default address, the one that seems to pose a conflict, is 30F. There
is a choice, by moving jumper settings on the card, of 7 other addresses:
20F, 22F, 24F, 26F, 32F, 34F and 36F.
Is any one of these preferable to another? Do I need to make any changes to
the device driver arguments after I move the jumpers.
Thanks.
