#CD ROM install?

My studio is about 60 degrees, it wouldn't be a pretty sight <giggle>.
I tried to boot with CD ROM in drive, nothing. When I say the drive is
mounted, I mean everthing EXCEPT SCSI_lister and the WB screen seem to
show it. When I run SCSI_Lister it shows only my harddrive as ID#6 so
obviously something is not kosher. The cable was tested before it was sent
and it does communicate with the cpu on some level…yes? The software did
seem to reject "scsi.device" as a controller, but that's what is given
when I click on Amiga 3000 in the list of controllers. Maybe there's a
sceret to that, just like it being the only software I've ever used that
demanded the original disk…without informing one in the manual.
