Hi. I have an answer you might not like. I was using the T-338 with my
Sharp PC-6220. It worked fine. Then I got a TI-3000WinSX. I had the same
problems you say you have. I finally called Trantor. They said the problem
was with the parallel port/cpu. They suggested I slow the cpu down for
booting. I set it from 20mhz to 10mhz. Can't set it anywhere in between.
Everything ran fine, but slower than the 12mhz PC-6220. I went out and
bought the new T-348. Installed the software, plugged in the cable, and
re-booted. Everything ran fine the first time.
I have no idea if the cure is hardware or software/driver. I haven't
checked with Trantor in a long time. Perhaps they solved the problem with
new drivers. At any rate, Everything runs great (I have a NEC-37) at full
speed. Even Street Atlas USA cooks. At just 20mhz. I can't wait to see what
a 486 machine will do.
