#Radio Animation?
O.K. Guys here's one for the books.
Being familiar with ground loops in Video and all the problems that can cause
I've been following the same rules for setting up my network. So all equipment
uses the same leg for power, each machine is grounded etc.
The short of it is that when all five computers on the network are running I
hear low volume music eminating from them. Its like a radio station but ther
are no commercials, so it might have to do with "cable" which is wired into the
system.
But one of the machines is wired into a telephone line and recently after I
answered the phone it stopped.
Don't laugh. <g>
The sound is not localized and doesn't eminate from any particular computer but
is localised around where the machines sit. BTW if any one machine is off, it
goes away. And yes its quit amusing except at 1 or 2 am in the quiet of the
night. <G>
Its been intermittent but it wasn't until late one night I could actually
discern it as audible "radio" type signal.
Its like Muzak but even more annoying.
If anyone has some ideas on how to resolve this I'd be most interested.
The last time I remember picking up radio signals like this was with my secret
spy pen which had a tuning crystal. If you hooked it up to a drain pipe you
could pick up radio stations. Pretty cool when I was a kid. <g>
Thanks,
John
