Ignacio,
Setting up the Ill Pro can be a little tricky as it takes up so much real
estate in upper memory.
This is how I have mine setup as if you have more than 15 Mb RAM you can't load
the page frame above 1 mb and the board registers need to be included as well.
I've got mine working with Windows, with a SCSI ASPI controller, running 3DS
over a network. No small feat.
First off you should be using RDPADI not RCPADI.
The line reads:
RDPADI=C:\3DS4\DRIVERS\RDPILPRO.EXP (I'm assuming you're doing NTSC, but if
you're doing PAL it should be more or less the same but with a different *.EXP)
Make sure that your Config.sys file that the memory areas the Ill Pro is useing
for the page frame and registers are EXCLUDED. I'm using D000 for the page
frame and the Board registers are at CC00-CFFF. I have a video board at
B800-C7FF and a SCSI controller at C800 so in my case with EMM386 its
DEVICE = C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=B800-DFFF
and you need a common line for your Ill Pro driver at the end of your
config.sys…
[common] DEVICE= C:\PROUTIL\PRODRV.SYS CCIR NTSC
Yours maybe be CCIR PAL or SQUARE PAL etc.
Once you modified your autoexec and config.sys, REBOOT the system and start the
3DS configuration as outlined below.
When you first boot up 3DS after installing this driver a file is created
called 3DADI.CFG If you've already tried using RCPADI or RDPADI for 3DS you
need to _delete_ this file and go through the configuration process again. A
new one will be created. To delete the old one you will find it in your C:\3DS4
directory.
You also need to add a line to your 3DS CFIG386 Phar Lap file.
To do this type: 3DS CFIG386 -CALLBUFS 1
Under the Render/Display heading change it to RDPADI.
The rest should remain as you have it for your SVGA card.
Then when you have completed your Vibrant Config it will ask you Now here's the
final point. You mentioned trying to adjust Gamma. If you try to adjust gamma
so that the boxes line up, what you're going to find is that the boxes will
line up at a Gamma Setting of 1.0 which means you won't be getting any gamma
correction. You don't want to do this.
Jonas should have some files about Gamma if you're interested on researching
aspect of 1.0. You therefore need to change your 3DS.SET file to have a setting
of 720×486 at .901 aspect if you want it to conform to CCIR specs. You will
have to select this before you render if you want the correct aspect ratio.
