George, You make some very good and valid points! I do wish that, in all the reports upon hardware for the AMIGA, the originators would clearly state that their gadget will work with…. (giving a list of other hardware). Must say I get very confused on this subject. See new software/hardware. Gee! that looks great, it does excellent things etc. etc. Then….. wonder if it will work in my setup??? The ad' does not tell me. Someone should do a COMPATIBILITY CHART which shows the answer. On the TBC cards. Presume the firms will start making cards with BOTH Y/C and composite – in and out. We use standalone TBC's here which have this ability. As they are high end units, we use them to transcode both ways. Plus they have good proc' amps so we can touch up the picture. Am keeping my ears to the ground (and my eyes wide open)! All the best.
