You can also buy a little board from DKB or The GrapeVine group called
the KwikStart II that plugs into the 68000 socket and will hold both a
2.04 rom and the 1.3 rom so that you can boot either operating system.
it is listed on the December issue of AmigaWorld on page 114 fo $59.95.
I installed one for a friend a few months ago and it worked just fine
it does require replacing one of the PAL chips on the A1000's kickstart
daughter so you need to do a little soldering or find someone who can, but
installation is fairly painless. The PAL allows the A1000 to properly map
the 2.04 rom into it's memory space as it is a 512k rom as opposed to the
1.3 rom which was 256k.
