Jay, My guess would be that it's the monitor. To prove this, you might try hooking up the video output to something else, or maybe even turning off the de-interlacer to see if the monitor works better at 15.75KHz. When my 1950 started acting up, I was able to use it w/o the deinterlacer for a while, but I finally ended up taking it in for service. Commodore has a swap out program available. My own experience and messages that have been posted here about being unable to get schematics/parts for the 1950 indicates that the swap out is probably the best way to go. (Mine lasted for about 1-1/2 years.) David
