Upgrades are coming for PhotoCD workstations that will scan 4×5
and 2 1/4 trans at very high resolutions. You cant put too many
on a disk though ( 150 + meg files ).
Ever seen a res 60 (60 LPM) 4×5 trans? Bet you might have a hard
time telling it from an original. :^) ducking!
I think color film has surpassed the resolution of B/W film.
I've blown a 35mm velvia trans upto 20×30 and with a grain
focuser all you get is hi res mush, but prints can be excelent!
Finer grain has improved dramatically in fast ASA B/W films though.
