There is a way to use HDToolBox to set the filesystem on your AMAX1 partition so it won't show up on the Workbench. I believe you select partition drive, then select change filesystem and here is where I forget, you either select CUSTOM or RESERVED filesystem. I think it is RESERVED, but someone else help me out here. I use only macintosh formatted devices, cartridges. NO AMAX file formats. I run AMAX, boot the MAC and use macintosh utility software to format and install device drivers on the cartridges. If your running system 6.xx you can download the utility from CMS BBS 714-222-6601, if your using System 7 you'll have to buy the updated version of it for $25. I also use SCSIPROBE, an INIT to mount the cartridges if they don't mount upon boot. Chris
