Mark, I've had Amiga WP since March 1, 1988 and it is unequivocally the best all-around piece of software that I own. It literally has never crashed once and for me, it has been one of the least buggy application software I have purchased for the Amiga. And for pure word processing, not DTP, it makes all the other Amiga word processors look like a joke. It still remains the only professional word processor for the Amiga. Also, every year through 1991, WordPerfect was consistently named the best Amiga word processor in various Amiga magazines in both Readers' Choice and Editors' Choice Polls, and for a few years it was named the #1 all-around Amiga software in any category, a decision with which I wholeheartedly agreed. So I'm not certain why your experiences with WP have been different than mine and all the magazine people who consistently picked it as the best in its field. Certainly, if it was as bad as you claim, it wouldn't have had all those accolades bestowed upon it. Of course WP Corp. never said that the reason for poor sales was that the Amiga port was poorly done. That's because the port was not poorly done. I regret very much that there won't be an upgrade, but WP Corp. probably made a good business decision. On other platforms, WP is practically a standard. Most Amiga users were too cheap to pay the justified price for truly professional top quality software and sales suffered because of that, and of course because of the tremendous amount of Amiga piracy. And the support services from WP Corp. were unparalled in the Amiga market. So, unfortunately I can understand why WP Corp. withdrew their Amiga support. They weren't selling enough in the Amiga market. I don't think it was because they had an inferior product, but because many Amiga users wouldn't pay the price for quality software.
