Hi Ted, Thanks for the response, yes I do have a similar arrangement, but the speakers are not the source, its actually the components inside the cases which are harmonizing. Don got it right on the money, and its reassuring as it at least identifies the cause. It was really difficult to pinpoint. Sometimes from across the room it was louder than when I was right up close to the machines, which is why it took so long to identify. At first I thought it was coming from an adjoining suite, because the sound has a very reflective characteristic. One late evening, with the bay doors shut because of the rain, the volume increased and I realised it had to be emminating from the computer cases themselves. And that was what was so odd, because I'd try to pinpoint the source up close but there was no central emmission. And then I realised its more like a projection, like what one might imagine holographic music to sound like. The music that I was able to discern with a little more distance would not be distinguishable up close, just the normal hum of the computers and hardrives. And I listened for elements of the sound in individual areas, but its the sum total of the resonances at a certain distance. The strength of the signal dependent on atmospheric conditions. We've had alot of rain and that seemed to intensify it. So it seems to make sense that the P90's or their occilation crystals are somehow working in sync and causing different components with in the cases to sympathize harmonically. Actually in a way I guess its like those audio transducers that they used to put in water beds. Anyway, thanks for your interest, may you not experience such bizarreness although its been rather interesting. <g> John
