Well, I think it needs it on the motherboard, built-in, standard equipment. It need not be the latest, greatest, fastest SCSI implementation in the world. In fact, the implementation as seen on the A3000 would do just fine. To put IDE on the motherboard is to promote a so-called 'standard' that is both regressive and slow, not to mention the paucity of choices for peripherals other than disk. Placing IDE on an Amiga only lends credence to mediocrity. We can be above that, and should be. As for comparisons… I don't bother comparing any Intel-based machines to the Amiga, and pretty much ignore comparisons that others make. Show me an Intel machine running an OS and GUI as good as the Amiga's, at a decent rate of speed, and I will start looking at the comparisons. -larry
